The reson that the Berlin was put up in the first palce was so that the British wont flee to the west. Alot of people died crossing over to the other side of Berlin,people chipped the wall so they can make a hole and go through it. Alot of poeple in the other side of the wall thought that if you get on the other side you would have a better life, just like the border that separtes Mexico from the US. i forgot the website where i got this from, i will look though.
